Holidays to Port d'Andratx line up a slice of high society, with ritzy bistros and high-end fashion labels taking centre stage.
Port d’Andratx is Majorca’s answer to Marbella. You won’t find any neon lights or fast food places taking up space – it’s a wall-to-wall swish wine bar and linen tablecloth outfit in these parts. The hills behind the village are peppered with high-class villas, including one rumoured to be owned by none other than Brad Pitt. Take a stroll past the marina, and gleaming white yachts line up in droves. The village hasn’t lost its modest roots though – fresh seafood catches are still brought in by local fisherman every afternoon.
The stylish town of Camp de Mar’s just a few kilometres away, and it’s quite the hidden gem. It’s a celebrity favourite thanks to its quiet atmosphere, and the star of the show’s the 200-metre-long stretch of buff-coloured sand. Bookended by tree-cloaked headlands, the calm waters and gentle breezes make it an ideal spot for sunbathing, paddling and sandcastle-building.
You’ll find Majorca’s capital a half-hour drive east of Port d’Andratx, lining up museums, shops and a perfectly balanced nightlife scene. The old town’s no slouch either, with its time-stamped passageways and magnificent architecture taking the limelight. Plus, it’s home to one of Spain's most photo-worthy attractions, the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma – AKA Le Seu.
