Right on the beach and surrounded by rainforest, Khao Lak Merlin Beach Resort is an All Inclusive tropical retreat.
Set in 16 acres of tropical gardens, this place is a luxurious hideaway. Here, you have the best of both worlds – there’s a white-sand beach on your doorstep, but Khao Lak town centre is just a few minutes’ drive away.
Scattered throughout the lush gardens, you’ll find four pools to dip into. There’s also a seafront restaurant, a buffet place and a handful of bars tucked away in the trees. Meanwhile, secluded bedrooms are decorated in typical Thai style.

We were lucky enough to stay here for 4 nights during our trip to Thailand. This is a slice of heaven! If you are wanting a majestic hotel where you can relax, have access to the beach and unwind this is the perfect spot. There is a spa pool too! More

We stayed at this hotel from the 18th September for 12 nights bed & breakfast. We arrived at the hotel at about 8.30 in the morning where we were greeted by the reception staff with warm welcome & a refreshing drink & wet face cloth. We were in our room within 10 mins of checking in. The room was really spacious & very clean (4211). The bed was really comfortable & the bed linen was changed daily along with the bath & beach towels. The room had tea, coffee facilities along with a fridge.we took our own tea bags & brought milk, sugar & a large bottle water from the supermarket because you only get 2 tea,2 coffee & sugar along with 2 bottles of water supplied by the hotel daily. There was a TV on the wall & all the lights, air conditioning & fan was controlled by one panel next to the bed which was great. Our balcony over looked a little stream which ran all around the hotel grounds & was surrounded by a tropical rain forest which was absolutely stunning. We only ate breakfast once at the hotel due to the fact that it wasn't as good as other guests said it was. The pancakes were cold & a bit like eating a baby rusk and the other hot breakfast was really not worth bothering with. The eggs were good because they were cooked from fresh. The coffee was luke warm & really strong, it didn't matter how much milk u put in it was awful. We never ate lunch or dinner at the hotel so we can't comment on them. The hotel itself was really lovely & the staff were always smiling & making you feel very welcome. The hotel grounds were absolutely stunning especially in the evening when you heard all the wild life. The hotel wasn't very busy due to it being the rainy season & we did see our fair share. There were plenty of sunbeds either around the pool or on the grounds. The beach was really lovely to walk along. I must mention this little gem of a beach bar called Nana's. The people were really friendly but most importantly the food & drinks were excellent & reasonably priced. There pineapple & banana pancakes were sooo good. We were also a couple of minutes from the little village which had plenty of shops & restaurants,or you could get the free shuttle bus to khaolak town centre, which left the hotel at noon everyday but you would have to get a taxi back which was about 300 baht. We ate lunch at my Thai, the food was good but it was a little more expensive than the other places. We also ate at tom yung guoong( not sure on spelling) again the food was really good & the staff couldn't do enough for you. We only ate dinner at siam turmeric. The owner Raj & his staff were all so welcoming & they made sure everything was perfect for you. This is our 2nd time in khoalak but 1st time at this resort & we are already looking at going back next year.More
Have just returned from a 2 week holiday here . The hotel , food ,staff and location was fantastic . The village is a 5 minute walk from the resort and has some really good bars and restaurants . The Siam Turmeric is a must , the food is excellent and the owner Raj is from Glasgow and is really chatty and great company . The Black Jack is a really good bar ran by a lovely couple who are so friendly and helpful . We went on the James Bond Island trip and it was a great day out . I am planning on going back next year for another holiday at the merlinMore

Khao lak merlin resort is amazing can't fault them for anything every staff has gone beyond our expectations to improve our stay from the moment we arrived they have been very pleasant and professional. The only disappointment was with rude guests but that's something that the hotel can't help other than that 100% no faults and I am planning my next trip to khao lak merlin resort. More
all you need to relax
After being in Bangkok for three nights we then traveled to Khao Lak and stayed in the Merlin Resort Hotel for one night before going to Elephant Hills camp for two nights, we then returned to the Merlin for a further eight nights. The hotel has a beautiful entrance and reception area, we were welcomed by friendly staff and were given a refreshing drink and hot cloth while we checked in. Our luggage was taken to our room for us and the bell boy showed us around our room and pointed out how to get to the restaurant, swimming pools , spa and beach. We ate in the Hotel every morning for breakfast except for two of them, we had early start for trips and the Hotel was happy to make up a packed breakfast box for us which we collected from reception. Breakfast was self service buffet style with an excellent choice of both hot and cold food, egg bar also open everyday. Very strong coffee but tasty. We ate in the Hotel four nights and each night had a different theme, again it was all self service buffet style with a fantastic choice of hot and cold food, great starters and amazing desserts. It was more expensive than eating in the village but was still great value for what was on offer. I used the Spa at the Hotel twice, staff very professional and friendly and delivered excellent treatments, I had opted for a buy one get one free spa day offer, this included a half hour body scrub, one hour body massage and a one hour facial, same treatments on two different days and cost 5000 bht which worked out around £125 for five hours worth of treatments, sheer bliss. You could have your treatments in the spa or certain treatments outside. There were plenty of loungers around the swimming pools and on the grounds over looking the beach, you can walk out onto the beach from the Hotel. If you go on to the beach from the Hotel and turn left, walk along for a couple of minutes and you will come to Nana's bar, some massage tables and another bar called My Friend which sell lovely food and drinks at very low prices, great for lunch or watching the sunset with a cocktail, massage on the beach also much cheaper than hotel but not as luxurious. Rooms in the hotel are clean and spacious and have every thing you need for a comfortable and relaxing break, Hotel has a play area for kids, pool table, lounge and bars. You can book day trips and taxi from Hotel reception and Hotel is only a few minutes walk into small village with good restaurants, bars and shops. The main part of Khao Lak is a five minute taxi ride away, around 250-300 Bht each way, there is a local market called Bang Niang on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. A bus can drop you in the town from the hotel at noon each day but you have to make your own way back.More
