Are the Marella Cruise ships suitable for the less mobile and wheelchair users?
Most of our ships are accessible and we'll do everything we can to cater for your needs. Give our Assisted Travel Team a call on 0800 145 6920 before you book your cruise - they'll be able to advise you on things like ship accessibility, bringing equipment onboard, adapted facilities and medical care. If you've already booked your cruise, you'll still need to call us so we can check this information for you.
We've also teamed up with AccessAble to provide detailed access guides for all of our ships. Here you'll find detailed information you may need to work out if the ship is going to be accessible to you.
All of our ships have a small number of adapted cabins for less mobile passengers - they have bathrooms adapted for wheelchair users and wider access. Just remember to make sure one is definitely available before you book.
To check availability, please contact our Assisted Travel Team on 0800 145 6920.
Due to the nature of access to our ships and ports of call, Marella Cruises can only guarantee general suitability for customers who are able to walk independently, and who are not entirely reliant on their mobility aids. In ports where the gangways are flat and it's safe to do so, passengers with a mobility aid may disembark the ship. However, this is not guaranteed. It depends upon conditions generally outside of Marella Cruises' control, such as sea level, weather conditions, distance from the port, and other circumstances.
Making sure your well-being is looked after at all times while you're onboard is really important to us. If you need help with daily tasks, like using the bathroom, eating, or moving around the ship, you'll need to travel with a companion or a personal assistant who can help you. Unfortunately, our crew aren't able to help with these kinds of responsibilities. If you're travelling alone - or your travel companion can no longer help you - and it becomes clear to us that your well-being's at risk, we'll have a chat with you about your options regarding your cruise, and help plot the next course of action. If you suffer with dementia, Alzheimer's, or need a carer to help you at home, you'll need to travel with a companion or a personal assistant during your cruise holiday - this is to make sure that you're safe and that your well-being is looked after at all times.
Calls from UK landlines cost the standard rate, but calls from mobiles may be higher. Check with your network provider.
