What's great about Riol river cruises?
The dinky village of Riol welcomes you to the Moselle wine industry – it’s bang in the middle of vineyards and wine estates, so make sure you try a local vino during your visit. A handful of streets make up Riol’s centre, while surrounding it are broccoli-green fields that fan out like carpet into the Moselle valley. The best wines can be found in nearby wine estates, like Weingut and Gastehaus Frick. Tours of the estates are available, plus you can pick up a few bottles to take home. Other local attractions include the Fell Exhibition Slate Mine, which showcases two slate mines that date back to the 20th century. There are lots of walking trails around Riol, too – and the Moselle makes for a pretty backdrop.
