If you’re able to be flexible about where you go and when, you’re more likely to get a deal. So, keep an open mind – if you usually pick Portugal, why not try Turkey? It’s a great opportunity to experience a new culture and see a different part of the world. It’s also often cheaper to fly outside of the school holidays, so if you don’t have little ones, aim for a summer break in June or September. You’re more likely to get a good deal on your flight search at these times.
Need the cheapest flight possible? Make sure to check prices on ones departing late at night or early in the morning. Weekend flights can often cost more, too, so make sure to do your research before you book. And, if you fly in the evening you can avoid hotel costs the night before. Try and travel from your local airport if you can for these flights, so it’s cheaper to get to the airport, too. TUI fly from over 21 airports across the UK, including Leeds Bradford and London Luton, so chances are you’ll have one nearby.
It’s not unusual for there to be a price drop on flights to certain destinations around Christmas and New Year’s Day, as less people want to travel on holidays. If you fancy a long-haul break to somewhere warm with plenty of beach to go around, why not try Sri Lanka? In August 2018, we had return flights on offer for just over £500 per person, flying in December 2018. But these deals don’t stick around for long, so don’t forget our second tip. If you do have a location you’d like to visit in mind, make sure you keep an eye on flight deals during the festive period.

Don’t rule out booking directly through charter airlines when looking at flights, as you don’t have to be on one of our package holidays to fly with TUI. We offer a flight only option to all of our destinations, meaning you can jet off to spots across the world, including Croatia, Cuba, and India. So, whether you’re visiting family or backpacking around Thailand, you’ll get the same great TUI service on all of our flights.
You may think it’s more cost effective to buy flights through a budget airline, and book your hotel separately – but choose a package break and you’ll get accommodation and transfers included. It’s worth comparing overall costs to see if you can save money, and if you go All Inclusive, meals and drinks are all part of the deal, too. Plus, TUI package holidays are ATOL protected. So, we’ve got your trip covered from start to finish – and, if any part doesn’t go as planned, you can expect free-of-charge rearrangement or compensation for the lost portion of your holiday.
Can’t wait to get away?
Whether you’re after a flight to Majorca for some spring sun, or a long-haul break in the winter – where you’ll be in with the chance of flying on one of our super comfy Dreamliner planes – make sure to check out our flight only program.
