As a travel vlogger and a presenter, Junior’s a natural in front of the camera, so expect to see a lot of his face on our social feeds this summer. He’s also got a thing for gaming, tech, music and anime, and says he’s most looking forward to a spontaneous summer of adventure with the other winners.
Baby of the bunch, Leigh, got an itch to travel the world after surviving a horrific car accident. Since then, she’s been on a mission to take a selfie in every possible place on the planet, pretty much. When she’s not preening her Instagram feed to Kardashian standards, Leigh’s designing motion graphics, and studying at uni.
Writer and videographer, Scott, is a dab-hand at the travel game. He’s seen a lot of the world already, and reckons New Zealand just about has the edge over Fiji as his number-one destination, so far. Scott’s passionate about getting people to step away from their routine, so watch out for his top #UnScene tips.
OK, so technically we only had space for four winners originally. But, when self-confessed foodie, Shu, and her photographer/videographer partner, Rob, wowed us with their work, we had no choice but to buy an extra seat on the plane. The couple’s motto – good friends make for good stories. N’awww.
Last week, the Scene Squad descended on the White Isle, on the first stop of their summer tour. Most of day one was spent at Bora Bora – the world-renowned beach club in Playa d’en Bossa. Here, the crew got to know each other over a few cocktails, before freshening up and hitting Ushuaïa’s official opening party. The team tackled Ibiza’s more un-Scene side towards the second half of the week, discovering crate-loads of craft beer at the Hippy Market in Es Cana, and sushi platters to give Nobu a run for its money, at Mint Lounge in San Antonio.
And, what trip to the White Isle’s complete without posting a pic of its famous sunset? But, instead of flocking to Café Mambo like most people (not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course), our Scene Dream Team stepped on board our Sunset Ibiza boat trip to capture their Insta-pics and Snapchats, while clinking glasses of fizz – which are included in the cruise, btw.
While you’re at it, take a look at our guide to Ibiza’s 2017 party calendar.
After an initiation week in Ibiza, our winners packed their bags (for the first of many times this summer) and took a hopper-stopper flight across the Balearic Sea to Magaluf, in Majorca. The team’s first taste of this clubland veteran’s epic nightlife took somewhat of a Jack Sparrow turn. Step forward, Pirates Reloaded. It’s a strictly-for-adults, high-octane party experience that couldn’t be further from your usual bar crawls and foam parties. Instead, the team enjoyed Reloaded’s world-class gymnasts, innuendo-packed script, and no-holds-barred dancers.
Our comp winners also checked out Katmandu Park, an interactive theme park, Scott and Junior went cave-hunting along the coast, and we challenged foodies, Shu and Rob, to find the best dinner possible on a budget. Needless to say, they smashed it, and a pair of food comas quickly ensued.
Mad for Magaluf? Find out about all the big opening parties.
As week two of Scene’s ultimate summer starts to wrap up, our winners are getting ready to jet off to their next destination. But where are they going? Well, we’re not telling, quite frankly. If you want to know, you’ll have to follow the journey on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And don’t forget to follow the four comp winners (their handles are above) for behind-the-scenes action along the way.
Fresh from the wrapping, the impressive is a lively place, both night and day – expect pool parties, live shows and a state-of-the-art spa.
The has a couple of claims to fame. It's the world's first Twitter-themed hotel and it's home to the only FlowRider® surfing simulator in Magaluf.
With two pools, a trio of bars, and some of the most legendary events on the island, makes an ideal party pad.
