History-heavy towns, pretty beaches and ancient ports feature on our cruises to France.
Where we sail in France
Cruise ports on our holidays to France range from Brest in the north-west to Marseille in the south. You can also disembark in St Raphael – a gateway to the glamour of St Tropez and Cannes. Or you can get off at Ajaccio, a charming town on the sun-soaked island of Corsica. We also stop in Villefranche on the French Riviera. Here, you can jump on excursions that take you to the Grand Prix circuit in Monte Carlo, Monaco, and elegant Nice.
French weather and where to go
The climate in France varies with the region, with the north of the country having much cooler and wetter weather than the south. We’ve got ports of call in the north-west and on the south coast, so there’s something to suit sun worshippers as well as culture vultures who want to sightsee in lower temperatures. In the south, in places like St Raphael and Nice, summer temperatures can climb into the 30s – perfect for a spot of sunbathing. In places like Le Havre on the north-west coast, you can expect highs in the mid-20s in July and August, and cold, wet winters.

Port of call in France
Propriano
Sandwiched between Sardinia and the top of Italy’s boot, Propriano delivers a taste of the go-slow Mediterranean lifestyle. It’s a far cry from Corsica’s busiest coastal stop-offs, but the pretty marina and rolling green hills will have you reaching for your camera. There’s a tropical feel to the beaches, with white stretches of sand all around the turquoise bay.
