Tunisia cruises

Cruises to Tunisia line up sand, sea, souks and ancient sights.

Where we sail in Tunisia

Our cruises to Tunisia call in at La Goulette – a port city dubbed the gateway to Tunis. The capital’s half an hour’s drive away from the port. Its UNESCO-listed Medina’s home to spice-scented souks where vendors flog everything from traditional Moroccan lamps to hand-woven carpets in canopy-covered storefronts. And once you’ve bartered for a good deal on your souvenirs, you can check out the city’s grand mosques, or see the world’s biggest collection of Roman mosaics at the Bardo National Museum. Also nearby is Carthage – a city so full of temples, shrines and Roman ruins that it was declared a National Monument.

Sun, sea and sights

The best time to visit Tunisia’s in the early summer, between April and June, when temperatures are balmy and there’s very little rain. This time of year’s perfect for sightseeing. From La Goulette, head into Tunis to get lost in the twisting alleyways of its souks, or make a beeline for ancient ruins in Carthage. The weather’s warm enough for sunbathing, too, so if you fancy some downtime while you’re in port, you can always flick down a towel on one of the camel-coloured beaches or stroll along the seafront promenade.
