Cruises to St Maarten introduce you to a Caribbean isle with a European twist.
Where we sail in St Maarten
It’s a two for one deal on a St Maarten cruise. This tiny Caribbean isle has a French and a Dutch side. Sint Maarten, in the south, is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, while Saint Martin flies the French flag. Our itineraries stop at St Maarten’s main cruise port – and capital – Philipsburg, where the duty-free shopping is first-class. You’ll get to spend some time on other Caribbean isles, too, like St Lucia, St Kitts and Antigua.
Caribbean-meets-European
This split-personality island is equal parts Caribbean and European. The Dutch side bustles with lively beach resorts, buzzing boardwalks and glitzy casinos. Meanwhile, the southern half is more reminiscent of a French fishing village – think wooden boats bobbing in the harbour, cliffside villas and rolling countryside. One part that’s certified Caribbean is the weather. It’s sunny and warm all year round, but the winter months are the driest – that’s why our cruises sail from October to April.
