Where we sail in Bonaire
Known locally as Divers’ Paradise, it’s no surprise that the biggest draw of the Caribbean island of Bonaire is its dive sites. Its marine park has 86 different scuba diving spots altogether, and our Bonaire cruises include a number of excursions that make the most of the underwater sights. We’ve got one port of call here – the island’s capital city of Kralendijk. Its streets are lined with colourful architecture, while the beaches major in lunar-white sands and turquoise seas. Scuba dive here and you might spot octopuses and manta rays in the coral reefs.
Year-round beach weather
Bonaire boasts an average temperature of 30°C year-round – which is great news, because we sail there in all seasons. May to October sees fewer crowds, while the island’s peak season is between December and April – so you’ll find the beaches busier around this time. Sorobon Beach is the most picturesque, and has very shallow water – great for snorkelling. More footprint-free sandy stretches can be found on Klein Bonaire, a small uninhabited island. You can reach it in 25 minutes by jumping on a water taxi from Kralendijk. The reefs round here are particularly colourful, and home to creatures like turtles, trumpet fish and seahorses.
