There’s a choice of stretching out on volcanic black sands or golden-tinted sweeps in the Canary Islands. Some are backed with restaurant-and-bar-lined strips, while others have a back-to-nature feel about them. Plus, Gran Canaria’s Maspalomas is home to the famous Saharan-sized dunes, where you can play ‘spot the camel’.
