Are thermal clothes provided on Lapland trips?

On all our Lapland holidays and daytrips you'll get an all-in-one suit, boots and socks waiting for you when you arrive. There's also gloves available but you'll need to bring your own hat. That said, you'll need to pack lots of layers if you've booked a Lapland holiday. See our article on what to pack for Lapland [https://www.tui.co.uk/discover/what-...k-for-lapland]
Thermal suit sizes
We can offer suit sizes between 90cm and 164cm for children, and 155-210cm for adults. You'll need to request suits for adults who need a size bigger than xxl and or shoe size UK 14 - euro 48. If you need a bigger size please contact us and we'll look into this for you.
Infants
We don't recommend Lapland holidays for children under 4. This is because of the cold temperatures. Children less than 90cm high will need to bring their own thermal clothing, as we can't provide this.

Can I arrange for Santa to give a personal gift to the children or person in my party?

Unfortunately not, as we know children are very perceptive and could result in other children to ask why Santa favoured another child with a different gift.

Can I book a Lapland excursion before I travel?

Yes, you've got the option of booking excursions before your holiday on the TUI app. Otherwise, you can book them in resort with your Holiday Rep. Take a look at our Lapland holidays page for more information.

Can I change the time or date of the Lapland excursion I've booked?

Yes - when you arrive, speak to your TUI Holiday Rep who'll be able to help you rearrange the excursion, depending on which other dates and times are available.

Can I drive a snowmobile?

If you want to get behind the wheel of a snowmobile, make sure you bring your full UK driving licence with you. As long as local guides agree, children aged 12 and over can ride as a passenger on your snowmobile. Younger children have to travel in a sleigh pulled by one instead. This applies for Day Trips as well.

Day Trips and storage of belongings

Search for Santa daytrip - We recommend you only bring hand luggage as there are no storage facilities for personal belongings.

Does the Lapland Day trip follow a guided itinerary?

You'll be met by our TUI team and Santa's Elves on arrival at your Lapland airport for your Day trips. They will accompany you by coach to the venue. Here the time is yours to enjoy and explore at you own pace, and you can do the activities in whatever order you like. We may give you a suggested time to visit the restaurant or meet Santa Claus. The Elves and TUI team are on hand throughout your day to assist, answer any questions, and make sure you make the most of your day in Lapland.

Do I need travel insurance for my Lapland Holiday?

It's essential you and your family have the protection you need in case the unexpected happens. What's more, if you want to take part in any snow sports when you're away, you'll need a policy that covers you for these. For more info, ask us about travel insurance when you book your holiday - we’ll help you find the right cover for you.

Our brief taster sessions are designed to give you a flavor of each activity - they generally last between 1 and 2 minutes.

How suitable are Lapland holidays for disabled passengers or those with limited mobility?

Lapland does present challenges for disabled and passengers who require special assistance.

While Lapland's infrastructure is suited to wheelchair users, with ramps, etc - the climate can be challenging with roads, pathways often thickly covered with snow and ice. Occasional thawing and re-freezing leaves many paths and roads extra slippery until the local services have treated the surfaces.

Someone who is less mobile is more susceptible to the sub-zero temperatures and temperatures in Lapland can vary from 0°C down to -30°C.

How suitable are the excursions for disabled passengers or those with limited mobility?

All transfers to and from excursions are by coach, therefore the passengers will need to be able to get on a coach.

Reindeer and Huskies

These are sleigh based so the person must be able to get into and out of a sleigh.

Snowmobile

The Snowmobile excursion does have a sleigh available if the person is unable to drive or sit on the back of the snowmobile.

Arctic Wildlife Park

This excursion is not suitable for disabled or the less mobile due to the rough terrain when walking around the park.

Elf Adventure

This is another excursion which isn't suitable as the majority of activities are outdoor on rough terrain including forest, inclines and field.

I've booked a few different excursions for my time in Lapland - will I be able to fit them all into a 3 or 4 night stay?

Our TUI excursions are arranged to fit in with your itinerary, which means you'll be able to experience everything Lapland has to offer.

It is possible, however be prepared for costs of several hundred pounds for approximately, a 30mins meeting, and availability is of course very limited as Santa can't be everywhere at the same time, can he?

Is Lapland suitable for young children?

We don't recommend our Lapland trips for children under 4-years-old. That's because the chilly temperatures and types of activities aren't suited to really little ones. If you do bring toddlers along, though, you'll need to provide their own thermal clothing.

I noticed on the itinerary that there's a festive meal on the last night of the holiday, but will there be one on Christmas Day?

If you're in Lapland on Christmas day we'll arrange for your festive finale dinner to be on Christmas day rather than on your last day

On day trips where can I store my belongings?
