German Wine Route

Docking in Speyer puts you right in the centre of what’s known as the German Wine Route – an 85-kilometre-long trail punctuated with some of the country’s best producers of wine. And this half-day excursion takes you out to sample it for yourself. Sit back and soak up the views of the rolling vineyards and chocolate-box towns as your bus whisks you through the bottle-green countryside. After around an hour, you’ll reach a traditional winery where you’ll try some of the local varieties – and learn all about them – before making the return journey back to the port.
