Luxembourg City Tour

This tour whisks you out of Germany and into neighbouring Luxembourg. It might be one of the smallest countries in the world, but it’s got plenty to shout about – including its clifftop capital city complete with UNESCO World Heritage Site status. This is where you’ll be heading today. After an hour’s drive from Trier, you’ll arrive in the city and start seeing the sights by bus. Next, you’ll be taken on a guided walk that lasts just over an hour, and then have around 45 minutes’ free time before the return transfer. Top sights include the 16th-century Notre-Dame Cathedral, with its stained-glass windows, vaulted ceilings and bronze gates. There’s also St Michael’s Church, which blends Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic styles. The turreted Palace of the Grand Dukes, meanwhile, is where the head of state lives, which is why you’ll spot uniformed guards patrolling outside.
