Antwerp City Tour
On this tour, you’ll see some of Antwerp’s oldest and most popular sights. You’ll kick things off with a 15-minute bus ride into the historical quarter, where you’ll be shown around the Cathedral of Our Lady. This 123-metre-tall landmark sits in the heart of Antwerp, and your guide will tell you all about its 169-year-long construction while you wander around inside. Be sure to take a look at the altar – it’s decorated with four paintings by the city’s most famous artist, Peter Paul Rubens. From here, you’ll have some free time to explore the market square, a five-minute walk away. You’ll be able to snap some photos of the Gothic-style town hall, and take a selfie with the statue of Silvius Brabo – legend has it, this mythical Roman soldier killed a giant that lived in the area around Antwerp. Before heading back to the port, you’ll stop at the city’s 100-year-old central train station, in the Jewish Quarter. As you walk around its big terminal hall, your guide will point out where the building was damaged by German V2 rockets during World War Two.
