The Gambia – which is bordered by Senegal on three sides – is one of Africa’s smallest countries. What it lacks in size, though, it more than makes up for in character. You’ve got a string of hotels along the coast, exotic wildlife along the river, and villages full of friendly locals who have given this place its nickname – Africa’s Smiling Coast.
