Foodies are spoilt for choice at the Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa – there are five restaurants to tick off, offering a range of cuisines. The World Café buffet restaurant mixes island specialities with international dishes, so expect themed nights that roll out the likes of Asian fare. The other places to eat are all à la carte spots, and include an Italian eatery and Japanese teppanyaki. For a pre-dinner tipple, there are a handful of bars to choose from too – sip on your drink of choice to the sound of tinkling keys at the Piano Bar or enjoy a cup of tea in the Coco Café.
There’s plenty to do during your stay, from getting in some morning laps at the pool to putting your feet up in the spa. Sports fans can get involved with volleyball, tennis and yoga classes, hire bikes and head out on the nearby trails, or watch a game in the Sports Bar. There’s also a scuba diving centre if you fancy exploring the island’s coral reefs. When you're ready for some serious R&R, the spa offers a range of treatments including a massage designed for golfers. Plus, there’s an outdoor terrace for enjoying some afternoon sun. Water babies can choose from three pools – they're heated throughout the year, too.
When it comes to location, this hotel really delivers. Its beachfront setting means you’ll be treated to great sea views from all the outdoor pools, and there’s a private strip of sand right outside. Just a 10-minute walk away you’ll find Puerto Calero, which has its own marina and a generous helping of restaurants, bars and cafes. You’re also 12km from Timanfaya National Park, which is home to Fire Mountain – a now-dormant volcano – and the La Geria Vineyard, which is in Lanzarote’s main wine-growing region.
