GETTING TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT
- From Pointe Sarene, the Route Mbour Joal Highway, followed by the N1 motorway, is the quickest way to reach the airport. The journey takes about an hour and 20 minutes.
- From Dakar, you’ll want to follow the A1 motorway all the way to the airport. It takes around an hour and 10 minutes.
- To get a shuttle or minibus to or from the airport, it’s best to organise your transfer directly with the hotel you’re staying at.
- The taxis outside the airport are entirely bright yellow, so they’re really easy to spot when you exit the main building. The prices for public taxis from the airport to the main destinations are fixed and are available on the airport’s website.
- A fare to Dakar usually costs 13,000 West African FCA francs, while a fare to Mbour – 30 minutes north of Pointe Sarene – costs 10,000. If you ask to travel on the motorways and come across any toll booths, it’s your responsibility to pay the toll.
