Diving in the Red Sea
Professional Dive Instruction
-
Of course, top quality diving needs top quality instruction. Which is why we’ve teamed up with some of the Red Sea’s biggest and most respected diving schools. In Sharm El Sheikh we've partnered with the leading dive specialists and award winning team at Ocean College. And in Marsa Alam and Hurghada, diving instruction comes from Emperor Divers. You can also go diving with Emperor Divers if you’re travelling onboard TUI Celebration on a Red Sea Cruise.

Free Try Dive
This is the try-it-and-see option. If you’re not sure whether scuba’s for you, this swimming pool session is your chance to have a go in shallow water. All the equipment is provided and training sessions run in the mornings and afternoons, subject to availability.
Discover Scuba Diving
One for first-timers, this half day course is all about mastering the basics - breathing through a regulator, equalising your ears and the hand signals. Your PADI instructor will give you a short equipment briefing before you head below the waves. And once you’ve picked up the skills you’ll head down to the reef together. Prices start from £56 and all your equipment is included.

PADI Scuba Diver
This course certifies you to venture 12 metres below the surface anywhere in the world, as long as you’re with a PADI professional - so it’s the perfect programme for holiday divers. Spread over two days, you’ll take part in theory lessons, skill sessions and two open-water dives. Prices start from £125 and all your equipment is included, although course materials do cost a little extra.
PADI Open Water
Officially, this is stage one in PADI diving certification. Armed with your PADI Open Water diver card, you can dive to 18 metres with another qualified diver. And it’s recognised in all four corners of the globe. During the four-day course, you’ll complete theory and skill sessions, as well as four actual dives. Prices start from £199 and all your equipment is included, although course materials do cost a little extra.
Note
To join a PADI dive class, you'll need to buy a course manual which isn't included in the price. Your course start date will be confirmed when you book. You’ll need to complete a medical form before taking part, and your doctor’s clearance may be necessary, too. If you’re already certified but haven’t dived for a year, you’ll be asked to do a Scuba Review. All payments made to Emperor Divers will have a ten per cent sales charge added to them.
Scuba review
-
If you’re already certified but haven’t dived for a year, you’ll be asked to do a Scuba Review. It lasts about half a day, and helps to refresh your diving knowledge and your practical skills in the water.
Daily dives from shore and boat
-
Once you’ve completed a PADI course, the ocean is your oyster. And we’ve got a great range of full and half-day dives to choose from. Head out to sea by boat, then delve into the deep blue with an instructor. The fish aren’t shy in these parts – you’ll encounter everything from neon-bright Clownfish to spiky Scorpion Fish. If you don’t fancy the boat trip, many hotels like the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort have great house reefs just waiting to be explored from the shore.
You can book your holiday to Egypt online, or by giving us a call on 0871 231 4932 (Calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras). Alternatively, pop into your local travel shop.
