Can you name the hottest holiday accessory for 2017? It was the millennial-pink inflatable flamingo, of course. We’re guessing you’ve probably seen them migrating their way through your Instagram feed over the summer months, too. In fact, did you know the hashtag #pinkflamingo was used more than 100,000 times this summer? That’s a lot of flamingos, people. It wasn’t just the coral-coloured birds turning heads, though. There was also a huge influx of inflatable doughnuts, unicorns, pizzas, and watermelons floating around on social media, as well. We’re not totally surprised, either. These pool inflatables are the epitome of fun – they’re large enough for adults to relax on, and they make the perfect prop for poolside selfies, to name just a few of their benefits. What happens when their owners return to the UK and (inevitably) abandon them at the side of the pool, though? The Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma has all the answers…
Fancy adopting a pool float? You can do exactly that when you stay at the brand-new Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma in Majorca, which opened its doors to guests for the first time this summer. This place is just two minutes’ walk away from a sandy beach, and it comes with a huge outdoor pool for water babies, too. Speaking of which, did you know this place has partnered up with Hotels.com to reveal the world’s first inflatable sanctuary?
A recent survey revealed that half of all British holidaymakers purchase a pool inflatable, with a mere 28% taking them home at the end of their holiday, sigh. This means at the end of the summer holiday season each year, thousands of lost and lonely inflatables float around holiday resorts all by themselves. How sad…
So, in response to the survey, the Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma have unleashed an initiative whereby all unwanted inflatables have a home for life, so that they can still relax by the pool once holidaymakers have gone back home to the UK. The scheme also gets rid of the need to purchase and pack a new float next time you jet off on holiday. Plus, you’ll be able to adopt one through to the end of the winter season, so there’s still plenty of time to grab a last-minute deal to Majorca and make a splash in the pool. Water you waiting for?
Yes, of course you can. The Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma sits in the sun-soaked resort of Playa de Palma, which is famous for its Blue Flag-waving beach, excellent links to buzzing capital city, Palma, and its breadth of stylish shops, bars, and restaurants. And for when you’re not busy having fun with your new-found inflatables in the pool, there are plenty of other things to look forward to here. Families can take to the chutes and slides at Aqualand El Arenal, foodies can indulge themselves at Majorca’s carnival, shopaholics can splash out in Palma, and adrenaline junkies can try out watersports, like jet-skiing, at Playa de Palma Beach.
