A blogger’s guide to Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is perhaps best known for the Petronas Towers, but there is so much more to see besides this ultra-modern landmark. Here blogger Emily Quak from Emily’s Anthology takes us to some of the most noted spots in Kuala Lumpur - along with some hidden gems.

Kuala Lumpur is a cultural melting pot and this is true in every sense. The city is largely a mix of three cultures - Malay, Indian and Chinese – and this diversity helps to bring a multitude of cuisines and sounds to the table.

There really is a little something for everyone here. KL is famous for its food and you’ll never run out of dishes to try here in Malaysia’s capital city.

There’s the wonderful Jalan Alor, which is a street filled with hawker stalls and restaurants selling a variety of dishes from around Malaysia.

And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a trip to nearby Klang, Penang, or Malacca for some fantastic food you won’t find elsewhere.

When it comes to shopping, Petaling Street is great for inexpensive souvenirs, while Suria KLCC, located below the famous Petronas Twin Towers, is a more upmarket shopping mecca.
