The place was fantastic. Food was very nice and very varied. Rooms where brilliant. The staff where outstanding. Thanks to Manuel and all the staff the gave us a holiday to remember. Pool was lovely also the disability lift as my daughter has CP and is wheel chair bound a godsend. Location fantastic. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks very much.

Very nice hotel! Rooms are a little bit small for four persons. Closet is small also. Safe is for free. Nice big flat-screen in every room. Bathroom is really nice. Restaurant is good with every night other food. Animationteam is very nice and marked the stay even better! They sound is loud if you want to sleep before 23.30u. But we enjoyed our stay very much!
Good for families with children - otherwise not so sure...

I should say that I did not chose this hotel (and probably wouldn't have) - I was part of a group. The location is good, with direct beach access across a pedestrian walkway (and cycle path): no cars to contend with. The beach itself is pleasant, but without a wow factor. There's a breakwater right in front of the hotel, so the water is always pretty calm. Obviously pretty crowded in July/August, but you can generally find a spot in the second row or so. Rooms are on the small side. Pretty much all rooms have a partial sea view, which is nice - there are a few rooms directly facing the water at the end of the two wings of the hotel, but I imagine they are more expensive. There is a lot of entertainment provided, which is good if you have small children, but perhaps less enjoyable if you don't. Be aware that the "culture programme" (which on one occasion included flamenco dance to an Austrian march...) goes on until 11.30pm or later and is very loud, so if you want to get some sleep before that make sure to ask for a room facing away from the pool. We did ask to change rooms and the hotel staff were very helpful. Checkout is at 11, but you can extend to 2pm for 25 euros (and to 6pm for 50 euros). On the whole, this is a hotel that does mass tourism very well, so if you don't mind that, it's not a bad choice. Food was ok (I'd rate it 3 out of 5) and waiting staff was generally helpful, although with something like 800 people staying at the hotel during peak season, the restaurant was stretched to capacity.
Clean hotel but so hectic

This is a totally honest and realistic review. On arrival we were checked in by a very rude Mari,we had to pay €14 tourism tax which took me by surprise as I thought this was only for the balearics. But obviously we paid it. I asked Mari where this stated that we have to pay this and she rudely shrugged her shoulders! We had two dealings with reception and both with the extremely rude Mari. Room absolutely spotless and lovely large showering area, small balcony but served the purpose. Maid even came in although we had the "do not disturb " sign on the door! Very strange..location we thought was good,a nice walk into Salou at night. Now the food..food was good but the most hectic we,ve ever experienced, massive queues for the live stations,we didn't even bother. Very rude man on the waffle station,I was first in the queue and he totally ignored me and put all the waffles bar one on other people's plate who happened to be men/young boys then me last! Absolutely disgusting! He must have hated women or English people, that's the only reason I could think of,I have read other reviews that also stated that they felt like the English were treated differently as well and I,d have to agree. And noise! People constantly moving chairs, dropping cutlery, kids shouting..it was like a cattle market, dirty plates sat on tables for absolutely ages. Sunbeds:don't even try to get one! All sunbeds taken all day every day with people not even using them for hours on end,the hotel does nothing about this. We used the padded blue seats to lie on at the "chillout zone" but mostly spent time on the beautiful beach although very busy but it was peak season I suppose, buy a cheap lilo from over the road to sunbathing on,well worth the €9. Cant comment on the plana bus service but they were going by all the time. Brilliant little supermarkets everywhere too where we bought wine/San miguel for the balcony. Free fridge was excellent and good air con. I hope this review has helped someone. Would I stay here again? Unfortunately not and such a shame really.
4 day break, nice hotel but no wow factor

Came here for a 4 day break with my partner. The hotel itself is nice and has clearly been refurbished. I would say it is a 3*+ rather than a 4*. Food- Need some more vegetarian options other than just the salad bar or individual vegetables- you will struggle to eat anything other than salad & pizza/pasta if you are veggie but otherwise food was really fresh and turned over very quickly. Reception staff all very helpful and polite It would also be nice for those who are half board to have more lunch options at the bar as they only sold pizza. There are two supermarkets near by where you can buy food and make your own sandwiches ect. Room- 3022 sea view room which we requested so this was fab. Very clean, modern, good air con, we didn’t use the TV so can’t comment on that, the balcony is small yes but it’s all you really need unless you spend a lot of time in your room. Beds & pillows comfy and the bathroom was lovely too. A little snug but nothing to complain about. Our only qualm was the entertainment is sooo loud at nearly midnight that if you aren’t a late one to go to bed then you may struggle as the noise goes through the rooms surrounding the pool/outside entertainment. Location- i’d only recommend this hotel & area if all you want to do is sit by the pool all day or go to the beach as it’s perfectly located right on the beach which makes for great views. Otherwise there aren’t many nice bars or restaurants nearby, Salou is very Benidorm like so again if you’re looking for something a little nicer then this area of Spain isn’t it. Outside of the hotel along the beach is a lot of looky looky men selling however they were the politest and didn’t hassle you at all! But they were selling everywhere. Bus right outside the hotel is very handy to the waterpark- we made an error and got a taxi on the first day for €20 and then paid only €4 for two of us on the bus for the rest of our journeys! So make use of the bus Pool- not as big as the pictures make out, very busy all day, there is sand all over the floor that people bring from the beach so this needs to be cleaned more often and the reserving of sun loungers which is no surprise is silly as people don’t use them all day!! The adult only area looked nice but the hotel charge you to use it so we didn’t bother. Unfortunately when we arrived at 10.30am after a very long morning as our flight was at 6am- our room wasn’t ready, which was fine but one particular young receptionist with long brown curly hair and glasses didn’t explain anything to us, she wasn’t particularly polite and not helpful at all. Our room wasn’t ready until 2pm. Also forget queing at reception as other people push ahead of you and reception does nothing about it - unfortunately other reviews have mentioned that English people were treated differently and I felt the same whilst at the Best Maritim. Overall- nice hotel, no wow factor, a few things need improving such as customer service but otherwise if you want a nice few days by the pool/beach with a short flight and transfer then this place i’d recommend.
