Days 1 - 3

Zanzibar, Tanzania

Zanzibar is a tropical paradise off the coast of Tanzania, where you can relax on some of Africa's most beautiful beaches. The island is known for its crystal-clear water, ideal for snorkelling and diving among colourful coral reefs. Stone Town, the historic capital, takes you through narrow alleyways full of Arabic, Persian and African influences. You'll discover vibrant markets where the scent of spices greets you, as Zanzibar is not called the 'Spice Island' for nothing. Visit a spice plantation and taste the authentic flavours of cinnamon, cloves and vanilla. The local people welcome you with open arms and are happy to share their Swahili culture. Additional Information

  • Your passport details are required for this tour and are essential for the domestic flights Zanzibar – Selous - Zanzibar. These details must be provided at least 4 weeks prior to departure and can be shared either via your travel agent or by contacting us directly using the contact details available on our website.
  • We recommend bringing a soft duffel bag (max. 15 kg) for the safari, due to transport in 4x4 vehicles and the domestic flight. If you are staying in the same beach hotel in Zanzibar before and after the safari, you can leave part of your luggage there.
  • During the rainy season (1 April – 1 June), weather conditions may prevent access to the airstrip in Selous. In such cases, an alternative solution will be arranged, such as rerouting flights via Dar es Salaam.

Luggage during your safari

Travelling light is recommended for your safari, as luggage restrictions apply to safari vehicles and domestic flights. If you stay at different hotels in Zanzibar before and after your safari, we recommend keeping within these luggage limits for your entire trip. Should you wish to bring additional luggage and leave it in Zanzibar during your safari, you will need to arrange the transfer of this luggage between the two hotels yourself.

Additional Information

We inform you that TUI has taken note of the update to the EU Air Safety List, as a result of which airlines registered in Tanzania are no longer allowed to fly within EU airspace. This restriction is based on concerns about the oversight by the Tanzanian civil aviation authority, and not necessarily on the operational safety of the individual airlines. The Tanzanian airlines we select and work with for operations within Tanzanian airspace are always subject to an internal safety risk assessment and audit process. Our strict internal oversight includes regular audits, performance evaluations and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with our safety management system. The safety of our travelers always comes first and guides the choice of airlines TUI partners with in different countries, including Tanzania. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at any time.
