Tzaneen
Tzaneen is situated in a green and mountainous region, offering a striking contrast to the savannah landscapes of the Kruger area. Surrounded by forests, plantations and rolling hills, it provides a peaceful and scenic start to the journey.
The nearby Magoebaskloof Pass is one of the most scenic drives in the region, with lush forests, mountain views and several viewpoints along the way. Highlights also include the Debengeni Waterfalls and the surrounding plantations, where avocados, citrus fruits and tea are cultivated.
Hoedspruit
Hoedspruit is an ideal base for exploring one of the most wildlife-rich parts of the Kruger National Park. Via Orpen Gate, the central region lies within easy reach, including the well-known Satara area, often referred to as “big cat country” due to its strong populations of lions and other predators. The vast open savannahs in this part of the park offer excellent overall game viewing and some of the best chances of spotting the Big Five.
Hazyview
Hazyview is located at the edge of the southern Kruger National Park, providing easy access via Phabeni Gate and Numbi Gate. From here, the renowned Skukuza region can be explored, known for its rivers, diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife. This area offers varied scenery and rewarding game drives.
Tip: a scenic way to travel from Hoedspruit to Hazyview is via the Panorama Route, passing impressive viewpoints such as Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and God’s Window.
Mauritius
Mauritius is all about relaxed island life and tropical vibes, with beautiful beaches, turquoise lagoons and a laid-back pace that makes it easy to slow down and unwind. It’s a destination for travellers who enjoy combining time on the beach with easy day trips, light activities and a touch of local culture – all at their own pace.
