North Brazil Amazon explorer: Manaus, Santarém & Belém

Individual Tour
12 DaysBrazil
Additional Information
  • From April to November it is the dry season with less rainfall and more sun, dry trails to hike and river beaches appear. From December to May it is the wet season when flooded forests become accessible by boats and the rainforest is at its most impressive. When the Tapajós river is at low water, it reveals wide white sand beaches around Santarém and Alter do Chão. During the wet season, the floods create rich flooded-forest habitats.
  • The best time to observe animals in the Amazon region, especially in Manaus and Santarém, is from April to June. During this period, the rivers have enough water to allow boat trips, and the vegetation is lush. The wildlife is particularly active, making it ideal for animal watching.
  • The transfers from the aiport and vice versa in Santarém need to be organized idependently.
