+2

Ubud, the cultural and spiritual heart of Bali, is set in sumptuous surroundings dotted with centuries-old rice paddies and some remarkable temples. The wide range of activities and sights in and around Ubud makes it one of Bali's main attractions! In this charming town, visit one of the many museums or art galleries that have earned it its reputation as the epicenter of the Balinese art scene. The countless stores selling handicrafts also give Ubud a unique creative touch. In the company of your guide, let yourself be captivated by the traditional Barong dance in a small village on the outskirts of Ubud. This dance embodies the age-old struggle between good and evil in human beings and in the world. Afterwards, you visit local goldsmiths and carpenters before continuing on to the temple of Tirta Empul, famous for its sacred water. Another highlight is the Puri Saren Agung. The splendid palace where Ubud's king once reigned is a fine example of impressive Balinese architecture. Your guide will tell you more about the architectural style and history of this jewel.

You can also see many other sights at your own pace, such as the magnificent Saraswati Water Palace. The temple's colorful lotus-filled ponds and typical architecture make it a breathtaking place to photograph from every angle. In the evening, you can attend traditional dance and music performances. Another Ubud must-see is the Padangtegal monkey forest sanctuary, which is easy to visit. Stroll through a magical forest brimming with temples and moss-covered statues. The mischievous monkeys who live here accompany you as you explore the forest.

Free day to relax. Want to move a little? Take a bike tour along rice fields or rafting on the Ayung River. Do you prefer a thermal treatment? Everything is possible!
