Your Budapest food tour begins at Pest's oldest church, right on the Danube, with views of Buda across the water. From there, you'll make your way into the Jewish Quarter, home to colourful street art and one of the city's most famous ruin bars.
Paprika is a recurring theme in Hungarian cuisine, and you'll taste it in goulash, sausage, almapaprika and dips, while learning how Vitamin C was first discovered by a Hungarian. Along the way, you'll bite into deep-fried lángos, sip on fizzy grape must and hear the story behind goulash communism, a fascinating chapter in Hungary's political history.
You'll also stop inside a historic market hall for homemade paprika dips and a glass of local wine, and pass through Gozsdu Court, a lively courtyard once part of the Jewish ghetto.
The tour is limited to a maximum of 12 guests. Morning tours end with a cinnamon chimney cake to eat on the go, while afternoon tours include an extra drink and finish with vegan cottage cheese dumplings.
