Barcelona city tour and Montserrat experience with cog-wheel train

First part of the tour:

Your adventure begins with a walking tour of the Born neighbourhood and the Gothic Quarter. Explore one of the city's most significant streets until you reach the awe-inspiring Cathedral of Barcelona. As you follow your guide towards the coach, you'll have the opportunity to admire Santa Maria del Mar.

Next, hop on an air-conditioned coach for a scenic drive around the city. From the comfort of your seat, take in views of the Olympic Port, the beach, and Barceloneta - the charming fisherman’s quarter. Your journey continues to Montjuïc Mountain, a key location during the 1992 Olympic Games. Here, you'll board a cable car for a bird's eye view of the city. The tour concludes at the MNAC viewpoint, offering one of the most spectacular panoramic vistas of Barcelona. On your return to the office, you'll pass through Passeig de Gracia, where you can spot iconic Gaudí buildings such as Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.

Second part of the tour:

A comfortable coach will take you to Montserrat Mountain, which majestically rises to 4,051 feet (1,236 meters). This journey offers an opportunity to soak in the magnificent and awe-inspiring views of Montserrat Mountain.

Over centuries, wind and rain have sculpted the mountain's rocks into strange and varied forms. Local folklore has attributed human or animal shapes to some of these peaks, leading to fascinating legends about their origins. A cog-wheel train will take you up the mountain, amidst the Monastery. A 15-minute ride with a privileged and spectacular view of the surroundings, and completely wheelchair-friendly.
You'll visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, home to the famous 12th-century Romanesque carving of Verge Moreneta (the Black Madonna). Founded in 1025, the Benedict sanctuary of Montserrat provides a mystical setting for the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia, enshrined in the monastery's Royal Basilica. Over time, tales of miracles and wonders performed by the Virgin have attracted pilgrims and visitors, contributing to the monastery's fame. Today, Montserrat continues to cater to the needs of pilgrims, a thousand years after its original founding.

Before returning, you'll have some free time to explore an audiovisual exhibition about Montserrat's history. You can also sample traditional liquors, handcrafted by the monastery's monks.
