Take a trip through the history of the Vasa warship at the Vasa Museum, a ship that sank in 1682 and after 333 years was raised, preserved and restored!
Admire this unique treasure that took over two years to build, only to sink on its maiden voyage in Stockholm. The boat has hundreds of carved sculptures which you can marvel at and you’ll be able to see the dimensions of the masts and learn the reasons why it sank.
The museum provides exhibitions that will teach you about life on board and its history. There is a film all about the ship shown in different languages and children will be engaged with a family trail map to lead you through the museum.
There is a restaurant on site serving local Swedish food such as Fika, and if you want to take something home to remember your day out, there is a gift shop.
