Most people walk through Trastevere. This tour gives you a VIP golf cart, a guide who knows every back street, and enough scenic stops to fill your stomach and your soul.
You start at a Trastevere deli that opened in 1928 and still operates with the same seriousness about what it stocks. From there, the cart handles the hills, delivering you to the Gianicolo terrace. It's one of the great viewpoints in Rome, with the whole city spread out below you, and you enjoy it with a glass of Prosecco.
The route then winds through the neighbourhoods, depending on when you join. Morning guests head through Testaccio's covered market for a series of stops. Evening guests pass through the Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere's backstreets for snacks. Both routes take you past a pyramid from 12 BC and the non-Catholic cemetery beside it, one of those Roman details that stops people in their tracks.
The main event is Angelina in Testaccio, where you sit down for pasta amatriciana, a tiramisù, and a glass of wine. Giolitti closes it out by the Tiber, a gelateria that has been serving authentic gelato since 1900.
