Discover the best of the South Coast on a day trip from Reykjavik. The adventure begins with a visit to the powerful Skógafoss waterfall. You have the opportunity to walk right up to the cascading water or ascend the stairs for a spectacular view from above.
Next, you'll journey to the globally renowned Reynisfjara black sand beach. Here, you'll witness towering stone columns, enormous waves and the iconic sea stacks sitting just off the shore. A significant highlight of this tour is the Sólheimasandur plane wreck. This vintage aircraft resting on the black sand has become one of Iceland's most photographed locations. To maximise your enjoyment and minimise effort, a shuttle bus will transport you across the sand, saving you a lengthy walk and providing more time to appreciate the site and capture memorable photos. The tour also includes a stop at Dyrhólaey, a lofty cliff that offers awe-inspiring panoramic views of the coastline and ocean.
Later in the day, you'll visit the Sólheimajökull glacier area. A leisurely stroll around the base of the glacier allows you to see the ancient blue ice and lagoon up close. Please note, however, this does not include a hike on top of the ice. The final stop is the magnificent Seljalandsfoss waterfall. This is no ordinary waterfall – it's one where you can actually walk behind for a truly distinctive perspective. Just remember to don your waterproof jacket!
