Introducing Praia da Luz

Nestled in the picturesque Algarve region of southern Portugal, Praia da Luz is a charming coastal village that entices millions of visitors each year with its pristine beaches, warm climate and family-friendly facilities. It’s the perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy the sunshine.

The star attraction of Praia da Luz is undoubtedly its postcard-perfect beach, with crystal-clear waters and soft golden sands. Choose to bask in the sun, take a refreshing dip in the ocean or indulge in a range of exciting water sports, from surfing to paddleboarding.

Beyond its natural beauty and warm hospitality, Praia da Luz is steeped in history. Its prosperous past can be seen in the ruins of the Roman baths, bearing testament to the town’s origins as a settlement founded by the Romans, which later became a popular fishing village.

Today, Praia da Luz has traded in its nets for a new identity as a thriving beach resort. The town is dotted with whitewashed apartments and villas, all backed by a palm-lined promenade. Here, you’ll find everything you’d expect from a modern holiday resort, including shops, bars and eateries, making Praia da Luz an excellent option for your next Portuguese getaway.
