Discover the history of warplanes, ships and space travel at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York.
Located on Pier 86, on the banks of the River Hudson, step aboard the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier itself! Used during World War II, the Vietnam War and NASA recovery vessel, this famous vessel became a museum in 1982. You’ll get to walk along its four decks from the bridge, bedrooms and flight deck. See the world’s fastest military jet and spy plane as well as the British Airways Concorde! Go inside this record-breaking place that crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 2 hours and 52 minutes.
The Museum also includes the submarine Growler, the only American strategic missile submarine open to the public. Get a first-hand look at life aboard a submarine and visit the torpedo room and the guided missile.
If space is more your thing, the Museum includes the Space Shuttle Pavilion, home to Enterprise, the world's first space shuttle! From collections, interactive collections and 4D films, you’ll learn so much in an interesting way. There are three flight simulators where you can even experience what it’s like being in the cockpit flying a plane!
