Introducing Naxos

Naxos is the biggest in the group of Greek islands known as the Cyclades. It’s anchored in the Aegean Sea, with Mykonos and volcanic Santorini as neighbours – perfect for a little island-hopping adventure. You’ll feel like you’ve stumbled into Eden here, it’s the most fertile in the island group covered in lush meadows. The highest peak in the Cyclades, Mount Zas, also calls Naxos its home. It’s said that the Greek god Zeus lived under a cave here – there’s lots more mythology to discover in Naxos. And, the beaches? With around 40 kilometres of coastline – pure beach bliss is waiting for you.

Top three things to do in Naxos

1. Wizz around the island on a bike tour

Hop on one of our e-bike tours to make the most of your island getaway. Cruise along charming villages like Sangri, Potamia, and Halki. And, at the Melanes Valley, the scent of citrus orchards and ancient olive groves will really tingle your senses.

2. Soak up the sun on the island’s beaches

You’ll find some of the best-looking beaches in Greece here on the island, from golden bays to pebbles and hidden-away coves. One of the most popular spots is Plaka Beach with its crystal clear waters, lined with taverns serving up local treats for a break from the sun.

3. Step into the island’s mythology at the Portara of Naxos

Just a short stroll from the port stands this ancient marble doorway – the Portara of Naxos – part of an unfinished temple dedicated to Greek god Apollo. Prepare to be wowed walking up to this giant structure, situated on an inlet – perfect for snapping up sea views. Don’t miss out on sunsets here – they’re to die for.
