Linderhof is one of three palaces built by the Bavarian king Ludwig II, the Fairytale King, also father of the famous Neuschwanstein Caslte.
The smaller Linderhof Palace stands at the place of a forester's house, which the father of the king used for hunting expeditions. So it was one of Ludwig's childhood places and the palace with its garden, modelled on Versailles, is the only project Ludwig II saw completed in his life, finished too early.

We had a great day out visiting the Palace and Castle. It was an excellent conducted tour that was comfortable and enjoyable and informative. We were also served snacks and drinks regularly. The driver was very good and our tour guide Annette was excellent and looked after the tourists very well.
