Mdina and the highlights of Malta guided tour with lunch

This full-day tour is perfect for guests eager to experience Malta’s most fascinating highlights. The tour starts in Mdina, the island’s ancient capital, renowned for its opulent palaces, fortifications, and stunning mix of medieval and baroque architecture. A stroll through its narrow streets, unchanged for centuries, offers a glimpse into Malta’s rich heritage and spectacular views from its bastion walls.

Leaving Mdina via the Greeks Gate, you will visit St. Cataldus Catacombs in Rabat, dating back to the 2nd–3rd centuries. These early Christian burial sites feature an agape table and beautiful rock-hewn tombs, representing some of Malta’s earliest Christian evidence.

Next, you head to Dingli Cliffs, Malta’s highest point at 253 meters above sea level. Enjoy breathtaking views of terraced fields, the open sea, and Filfla island, with a tiny chapel perched dramatically on the edge.

After lunch, you explore San Anton Botanical Gardens in Attard, home to exotic plants, fountains, and ponds with ducks, swans, and peacocks. Built in the 17th century, these gardens surround the President’s residence.

The journey continues to Ta’ Qali Artisan Village, where local craftsmen create glass art, filigree jewellery, lace, and ceramics—ideal for authentic souvenirs.

You conclude the tour at the Mosta Dome, a neoclassical basilica boasting one of the world’s largest unsupported domes. Famously, a WWII bomb pierced the dome without exploding, sparing hundreds—a miracle in Maltese history.
