Royal Mews entry ticket with historic coaches and carriages

Visit the Royal Mews, a working stable that houses the royal collection of historic coaches and carriages, along with the Windsor Greys and Cleveland Bays horses. The stables continue to manage all road travel arrangements for His Majesty The King and members of the Royal Family.

The Royal Mews has served as the location for the sovereign's road transport since 1760, when George III moved his carriage collection to be closer to Buckingham Palace. The collection has been updated by successive monarchs to meet changing transport needs.

You'll see historic coaches and carriages including the Diamond Jubilee State Coach, the Australian State Coach (a gift to Queen Elizabeth II from the Australian people that features central heating), and the Gold State Coach, which has been used at every coronation since George IV in 1821, including the Coronation of King Charles III in 2023.

Interactive experiences include sitting in a replica of Queen Victoria's Semi-State Landau carriage for photographs, dressing up in footman livery, and learning about horse harnessing techniques.
