Perched high above Lanzarote’s northern coastline, Mirador del Río is one of the island’s most spectacular viewpoints. Designed by renowned artist and architect César Manrique, the lookout blends seamlessly into the surrounding cliffs, revealing breathtaking views only once you step inside. From here, the Atlantic stretches towards the neighbouring island of La Graciosa, with volcanic landscapes and rugged coastlines unfolding in every direction.
You can take in panoramic views from the observation deck, relax with a drink in the café, or explore the building’s curved windows and organic design, which reflect Manrique’s vision of architecture working in harmony with nature. On clear days, the contrast between the deep blue ocean, ochre cliffs and untouched islands creates one of Lanzarote’s most memorable vistas. Mirador del Río is built nearly 500 metres above sea level and was carefully integrated into the cliff face to minimise its visual impact on the landscape.
