This mostly abandoned village is home to the mysterious Winter Villa – rumoured to have been a Nazi hideout after World War II.There'll be a photo stop on Cofete beach, and, if the weather's right, extra beach time on the east coast, before you make your way to El Puertito. Here, we'll take a pause – the perfect chance to look around, swim or grab a bite to eat. The final stop of the day is at Punta de Jandia, Fuerteventura's southern tip. Stand at the edge of the island where the ocean meets the sky, rounding off the tour by soaking in show-stopping views.

On the west coast, we'll arrive at Cofete beach where we'll have free time to immerse ourselves in the beauty and uniqueness of this place, walking along the endless, virgin beach, enjoying the charms of the landscape and taking a deep breath of sea air.This tour is also a great opportunity to discover the secret of Gustav Winter's Villa, which, according to local stories, was owned by a German spy who supported nazis submarines during World War II. On the way back, we will stop at the port in Morro Jable, where we can often meet huge stingrays tempted by the local fishermen, who feed them.

The legend only grows with each passing year."You'll first head into Fuerteventura's central mountains, where cloud-wreathed slopes plunge down to endless, deserted beaches. The most eye-catching is Cofete beach, which clocks in at almost 14km. The spray from waves creates an almost ever-present haze over the shoreline. Here, you'll enjoy panoramic views over the buffeted west coast before dropping down to Cofete, a ramshackle hamlet.This mostly abandoned village is home to the mysterious Villa Winter, which is rumoured to have been a Nazi hideout after World War II. Next, it's off to Punta de Jandia at Fuerteventura's southern tip. Hopefully, you can enjoy a sunset over the lighthouse and Atlantic, before a snack and glass of wine at one of the few restaurants found in this remote part of the island. You'll then wind your way back to your hotel under the starlit sky.

4x4 safari to southern Fuerteventura’s wild beaches

Set out on a 4x4 adventure in Fuerteventura on this small-group tour limited to just six guests. You'll off-road through the wild landscapes of southern Fuerteventura, navigating deserts, mountain trails, and cliff-lined coastlines. Start by heading south, towards the Punta de Jandia Lighthouse. You'll pause at some of the island's prettiest viewpoints and beaches along the way, like Playa de los Ojos, also known as the Beach of Love or Playa Juan Gómez, which is tucked away in a cove on the eastern coast.Next, you'll continue to El Puertito, a little fishing village away from the crowds, for a taste of Canarian life. Sip coffee at a traditional restaurant perched right on the ocean's edge. From here, you'll head into Jandia Natural Park and stop at a viewpoint overlooking Cofete Beach, where the volcanic coastline meets the sea. And, don't forget your camera. You'll be snapping away at the vistas from El Salmo Viewpoint, looking over Sotavento Lagoon and the sand dunes here.
