Köpenick Palace is a Baroque Wasserschloss (water palace) beautifully located on the banks of the river Dahme. The venue, which gives its name to a Berliner district, was commissioned by the Hohenzollern prince-elector Friedrich and is surrounded by an English-style park. It includes a historical gateway, a chapel, storage rooms, a conservation studio, and a café.
The castle hosts the Museum of Decorative Arts, managed by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, and since 1963 it has also been used as an exhibition space.
