Amsterdam is full of treasures and another one waiting for you to explore is the charming neighbourhood of Jordaan.
Jordaan is known for being the artistic district and it’s clear to see why with its flower-lined canals, quirky shops, boutiques, art studios, not to mention the charming canal houses that line the water. You’ll be spoilt for choice with the cafes, clubs and restaurants in this area too.
Soak in the peaceful way of Dutch life as you stroll the narrow streets and experience the locals firsthand at the Lindenmarkt, where you can try local produce and browse for unique souvenirs! The market takes place every Saturday. To arrive here, walk down Lindenstraat where you’ll find some of the prettiest houses in Amsterdam.
As you stroll along, make sure to pass by the famous Western Church where the renowned artist Rembrandt van Rijn is buried. Bordering the Jordaan district is also where you can find Anne Frank’s house which is an absolute must when visiting Amsterdam.
Whether you visit during the day where you can see the blue skies reflecting off the water as you stroll over bridges, or at night when the canals are magically lit up and the houses look like candlelit gingerbread from a fairytale, Jordaan offers a special charm and will not fail to disappoint.
