7 July 2017<\/strong> – Thomson has opened a brand new flagship store at INTU Merry Hill in Dudley which introduces new technology, such as virtual reality headsets, to bring the holiday to life for its customers in store.<\/p>\n

This new addition to Thomson\u2019s retail estate has been designed with both customers\u2019 and colleagues\u2019 feedback at its heart, all with a view to enhancing the customer\u2019s booking experience. Due to popular demand digital interactive maps have now been rolled out for use by all customers at every stage of the customer journey rather than there only being one at the front of the store. The interactive and touch screen maps help customers search for and narrow down their holiday choices, showcasing in-depth information on exotic destinations and inspirational videos of resorts and hotels.<\/p>\n

In a first for Thomson, visitors to the brand new store will be able to immerse themselves using virtual reality headsets which will allow them to enjoy a range of \u2018taster\u2019 experiences, such as a trip onboard the TUI Discovery cruise or viewing premium seats on 787 Dreamliners, all without leaving the store.<\/p>\n

Within the new store customers will also have the option to use dedicated self-service computers to print boarding passes, do advanced passenger information and to pay off any balances with the team of retail advisors on hand to answer questions and provide expert knowledge. Alternatively, the dedicated team in store can offer a completely personalised holiday planning service and can take care of the entire holiday booking process.<\/p>\n

A brand new appointment reservation system will also make its debut at the Thomson store in Merry Hill. After being greeted by an expert travel advisor when entering the store, customers can choose an allocated time, head off to continue their shopping and return for their dedicated slot.<\/p>\n

A specialist currency ATM stocking Euros and Dollars alongside Pounds Sterling will also be installed and allows customers to withdraw their own travel money. This will feature alongside our travel money desk where customers can order any other currency requirements for their upcoming holidays.<\/p>\n

The launch begins a weekend-long event which will offer a range of discounts and special offers to holidaymakers in the local area.<\/p>\n
