Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa lays on the luxury in spades, and boasts its own beach, and a pick of fine dining restaurants.
This place is a grand, five-storey affair, styled like a Victorian mansion. In the lobby, wing-backed armchairs and antiques are set under a high atrium. Bedrooms, meanwhile, feature studded headboards and golden fabrics.
The property is set on the edge of the huge Seven Seas Lagoon – a manmade sandy beach shelves into the water. The Walt Disney World Resort Monorail passes through the hotel, so reaching the parks is a breeze.

Perfect stay for runDisney Races
We stayed here for the Wine & Dine runDisney race weekend, and this hotel is beautiful, perfectly located to get to the races by bus the morning of the race, with great entertainment for kids. My daughter was treated like a Princess by all and made to feel as special as can be. Nothing beats the customer service given by Disney Cast members.More

Above even Disney standards
We celebrated our engagement at the Grand in Club Level. The staff went above and beyond, and we were greeted with treats and surprises throughout our stay. Upgrade to Club Level (we did not have a view, but the all day food and beverage amenities made up for it!)More
Wonderful recreation leaders
We stayed in a Deluxe room that had lots of extra room for our family. I was most impressed with Michelle and Sammy from the recreation department. They were wonderful with the children. The kids could not wait to play with them at the pool and for lawn games. You could tell they really enjoyed their jobs. I'd also recommend the pirates cruise for kidsMore

We made the holiday not Disney !
We have just returned from 2 weeks club level at the Grand Floridian. This being our 4th visit to Florida. Our 1st being 26 years ago for 3 weeks staying at the Disney Inn (which has long gone) and the GF only being opened months. Our other visits were only fleeting not actually staying in Disney. Sorry for a long review. We were returning with our grandchildren boy 15, girl 12 who still revelled in the magic, the boy was just to cool for Disney, so we made sure that we took both ages into consideration. Hiring a car for 3 days taking in NASA, Air Boat 2 hour trip seeing a number of Aligators, both trips were excellent. Visiting Universal which unfortunately did not meet our expectations was it worth in excess of $900 dollars for 1 day 2 parks, fast pass tickets costing $90 dollars each, which we did not pay, no is the answer. Most of the staff, were at most, helpful, friendly which of course is their job !!! Not so sure about the ones that would virtually ask and expected a tip. Disney make it clear that you tip either 18 or 20% on everything, did we no, but more times than really was deserved, we felt we had too, considering the cost of staying in Disney it’s criminal. We had the full package, booked with Walt Disney World holidays. The food package worked for all 5 of us, having some surprising exceptional meals in Disney, Coral Reef, California Grill, Boat House, Citricos. Rain forest, Sci Fi, Tiffins to name but a few, only Narcosees was very disappointing, we advised our conceige at GF, who we’re very good, they gave us back this meal to our plan. The Character breakfast at the GF was fun, Mary Poppins made a bee line for our grandson which was so funny, although the breakfast was very poor. At the end of our holiday, we had 26 self service meals left and many snacks. We just could not eat all day long! and because we preferred eating at restaurants, than some of the fast food places, this took more points from our meal plan, this was our choice. We still felt the meal plan was good. Club level at Sugar Loaf was good, although we did not make full use of it. The main bar at GF was very crowded at times, just not big enough to take the number the hotel now has. But was still welcoming as it was many years ago. We all loved Typhoon Lagoon, clean, lots of fun and so well organised. Animal Kingdom was much better than I last remember 15 years ago! Lion King was so good. Pandora, Avatar ride amazing. Soaring ride at Epcot was good, as was the racing car build. Although, Epcot now needs a complete over haul, quite boaring and dated. The English Pub, I have no idea why we went in there, packed and so over priced. I hope visitor’s do not think this was typical of an English pub. I personally think the Lands are now uninteresting. Except for, of course, The American Adventure!, Hall of Presidents still closed!!!, getting Mickey ready. We ate in Marrakesh ok but again wants a refit. Fireworks were good. Hollywood Studios worth a visit. Beauty and the beast, all good fun. Disney Springs was good, resemble’s very slightly Covent Garden, street entertainment, live bands, shops, lots of restaurants, busy and fun, Boat house restaurant was so good. GF Conceige managed to get us such good seats at Cirque du Soleil, excellent show which apparently ends soon. I must think my family and I are special, staying at the GF for 2 weeks, please tell me why I had to pay an extra £500 to be allowed in Disney Magic Kingdom for Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween just to be given loads of sweets!! A stage show that was over crowded and little ones could only see if placed on their parents shoulders. May be it was the slightly different parade, fireworks and changing colours over the Castle. Or perhaps because I am bonkers. Must add that during the parade, over excited American male adults who we’re Disney nuts, we’ re not happy allowing little kids to push in, sorry but I made places for over 8 kids to sit on the pavement with my granddaughter. Whatever next Mickey Mouse for President does have a ring about it, I truly think he could make it, next election. One member of staff, that is worth such a mention was Jacinthe at the GF Sugar Loaf conceige. So kind, helpful and genuine ! Not from the Disney mould, natural, she loved her job, people, and it showed. Apparently Disney has at least 40 projects in mind one being Star Wars land, with hotel. GF has certainly changed, which we expected, but so has Disney all I can say is perhaps the next film and park they make/build should be “The Emperor’s New Clothes”More
