InNew York, United States Of America
This hotel has three restaurants and bars, one of which comes with a chic terrace on the 23rd floor. Then you’ve got an indoor pool, gym and spa. Plus, there’s a sun terrace on the 21st floor that’s ideal for sunny days.
FOOD & DRINK
Clement deals in fine dining, with a focus on contemporary American dishes. The breakfast menu features the likes of cornflake-crusted brioche French toast, steel-cut oatmeal, and eggs as you like them. At dinnertime, you can tuck into specialities like wagyu beef bourguignon and lobster risotto.
Salon De Ning plates up a selection of light bites. Antipasti platters with cold meats and cheeses, lobster rolls, and toasted pitta with Mediterranean dips are all on the menu. Eat in the dining room or dine al fresco on the terrace. For a taste of home, reserve a table for afternoon tea at the Gotham Lounge – there’s even a version for kids.
- Clement restaurant
This place serves modern American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are plenty of meat and seafood dishes on the lunch and dinner menus - breakfast highlights include Japanese and Chinese options.
- Bar at Clement
The dimmed lights and leather sofas give this place a relaxing ambiance. Combine these with the signature cocktails and the views of Fifth Avenue and you have the perfect place to spend a relaxing evening. There's also a selection of light meals and snacks to choose from.
- Salon de Ning
This rooftop bar and terrace provides great views of the city and a wide choice of cocktails. There's a selection of small dishes as well, including caviar.
- Gotham Lounge
Opening Times: [11.00-18.00]
There's a choice of meals available here throughout the day, including English breakfast. The highlight of this place, though, is the afternoon tea. The traditional one has a selection of sandwiches, pastries, scones and teas, or you can splash out and add champagne and caviar.
HEALTH & BEAUTY
The spa complex covers off a Finnish Sauna, an aromatherapy steam room, a high-end hair salon and an Asian tea lounge. And when it comes to treatments*, everything from facials and waxing, to massages and manicures are on the cards.
This hotel’s gym comes top of the class. It’s kitted out with both cardio and strength training equipment, and sweeping cityscape views. There are free classes each day, including yoga and bootcamp-style sessions. And if you’ve forgotten to pack your gym gear, not to worry – you can borrow workout wear and trainers.
- Fitness centre
Opening Times: [05.30-21.30]
The state-of-the-art fitness centre has a wide choice of cardio and strength equipment. There are even daily classes if you wish, including yoga, pilates and kickboxing.
- The Peninsula spa
Opening Times: [09.00-21.00]
Treat yourself to a treatment during your visit. There's loads to choose from including massages and facials.
- Hair salon
You can treat yourself to a new style while you're away at the Vu hair salon. As well as hair stylists and colour technicians, there's also a makeup artist here. And you can choose to have all of these services in the comfort of your own room.
This place comes up trumps for drinking spots. The Gotham Lounge is ideal for low-key nightcaps, and the cocktail menu at the Bar at Clement makes it a must-try. Its ‘Bananas for Jameson’ drink features whiskey and bananas and is topped with a Godiva chocolate foam.
Head up to Salon De Ning’s 23rd-floor roof terrace and you can sip on signature mixes, like the Ning Sling – gin blended with mint, lychee and passion fruit – with sweeping views of Fifth Avenue and the Manhattan skyline.
The pool here is edged by a black-tiled floor that’s set up with loungers and armchairs. Waiter service means you can enjoy poolside food and drinks. And if you’re feeling active, you can take part in aqua aerobics classes.
Head through the spa area on the 21st floor and you’ll find an outdoor sun terrace. Kick back on one of the comfy chairs or loungers, and waiters will be on hand with sun block, chilled hand towels and bottled water.
- Indoor pool
The indoor pool is open daily and, with a choice of seating and poolside dining options, it's an excellent place to relax.
