InNew York, United States Of America
When it comes to mealtimes, you’ve got two restaurants to choose from. On top of that, there are three different bars that serve up signature cocktails and a menu of unusual whiskies. There’s a 24-hour gym here, too.
SPORTS & ACTIVITIES
The hotel has a team of easy-on-the-eye vintage bicycles that you can borrow during the spring, summer and autumn months. You can take a bike for a spin around the city for three hours, free of charge. And they’ll even give you an illustrated map to help you get around.
If you’re missing your four-legged friend while you’re away, head to the hotel’s very own dog park. Guests with pets are welcome to bring their dogs here for a run around. This space comes complete with fire hydrant-shaped water stations and the gardens were designed by landscaper Rebecca Cole. It’s open seven days a week.
FOOD & DRINK
Breakfast is served at both the Grand Bar and The Salon. You’ll have the choice of egg dishes, waffles and pancakes, and lighter options like granola and fruit. At lunch and dinnertimes, you’ll find pasta, burgers and salads on the menus. There are also child-friendly meals on offer, and room service runs 24 hours a day.
Gilligan’s is a pop-up restaurant that’s set up camp in the Soho Grand’s outdoor dining space. It’s open from May to early autumn and is a great place to hang out and tuck into stone-baked pizzas and net-fresh seafood. Their signature frozen watermelon margaritas are a favourite with guests and locals alike.
This island themed pop-up restaurant is open in the summer, specialising in stonebaked pizzas and freshly caught seafood.
- The Salon
The Salon has a classic style with plenty of plush couches and big armchairs. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all covered here, while brunch is offered on the weekends.
HEALTH & BEAUTY
The gym has been set up to cater for both cardio and weight training workouts. There are treadmills, cross-trainers and static bikes, as well as dumbbells and resistance machines. And you can head out to the attached outdoor deck for some fresh air.
The fitness room is on the third floor and is kitted out with Techno Gym equipment.
The den-like Club Room comes alive after dark. DJs and live jazz and soul performances are scheduled in several evenings a week. The drinks menu covers off Champagne, beers, fine wines and cocktails like the Moneypenny – it’s made with gin, vermouth and Californian aloe vera liqueur.
The interiors of the Grand Bar and Lounge were inspired by Jazz Age New York. Head up to the marble-topped oak bar and browse the drinks menu. It’s got all of the usual suspects, as well as a speciality American whiskey menu that features brews from various micro-distilleries around the country.
