Marina Parc Hotel

We arrived for a weeks holiday at marina parc as a family of 3.( the boy being 10) we had to wait a while at reception to be checked in Luckily hubby went to the bar and got us a drink. The room was nice, clean and basic but we had no hot water. I dont think the place had had a makeover so much as a lick of paint. After 5 days of no hot water and matinence visiting several times, I saw our rep who moved us within minutes.The new room was full of hot water and fine. The food was quite good, maybe a bit more choice needed and more puddings as ice cream and yogurt just doesn't cut it. You had to scan in at the restaurant which was stupid and then everyone queued from there which was stupid a d took ages. We found a seat, got drinks and then got our food without queuing. There was a childs section but again very basic. The snack bar had the usual chips, toasties but we didn't bother. The burgers and hotdogs didn't look appealing. The bars were extremely busy in the evening and needed more staff. 2 is not enough. You get small plastic cups and need to order a million at a time. The plus side though it was San miguel and was amazing. We had no interest in daytime activities, staying by the quiet pool dodging the rain. There was nothing we could do about the weather. It was warm but quite rainy. The pool areas needed desperately sweeping and washing down every evening. The waterpark would have been great if it had had a facelift it Was looking tired. We went 3 times to a curry house about 15 mins away and also had a pub called the outback and a Chinese next to there. The Curry was the best I had ever tasted and well recommended. We Got a complimentary late check out after having no water This was perfect as we had the room until 6pm and we left at 5.55pm. Would I return? Only if the place was revamped and the entertainment was improved and outside in the amphitheatre rather than stuffed in a boiling room downstairs. Please get more bar staff too.

when we arrived at the resort things were less than satisfactory. Due to the numerous issues I will bullet point the. * there were only three beds not four and the beds were pull out or sofa beds without proper mattresses' but with pieces of foam. * the adult beds were dirty and dipped in the middle * the room was dirty, they were stains in the bathtub and the bathroom * we used one of the plug sockets and the fuse went and all the electricity, contacted reception and no one came to fix it *reported it the next morning and someone fixed it, we tried to use the plug socket again and the electricity went again. I went to reception to complain and they said it was the adapter. when I explained the other plugs work the receptionist said 'don't use the socket then' * generally the food was edible although cold, there were flies everywhere and on the cheese and meats * on the 25/10/19 there was raw chicken and raw burgers being served. I informed one of the waitressing staff * my husband suffered with stomach cramps and lower abominable pain as a result of the food. Both my children ate very little whilst we were there * much of the food was overcooked but this was better than the food that was still needing defrosting * the desserts were basically yogurts and fruit *my son wet the bed on a few occasions and I needed to do laundry, I spoke with reception and asked to use the washing machine and was told it was broken and I couldn't use it. I spoke with the TUI rep (Megan) and although they made a phone call they said there was nothing they could do and shrugged her shoulders. * the evening entertainment was below par and was inappropriate at times considering how many children were there. * there was mould in the swimming pool and the splash park, children were cutting their feet in the water park. * the grounds were dirty and unkempt, there dirty nappies laying about and 2 pears were left on a sun lounger for 4 days and had started going mouldy. the floors were sticky and covered with ants and wasps from liquids and food that had not been cleaned up. * we paid in season tax but whenever we needed something or they were running out of food and drinks we were told 'it is the end of season'. this response was from the marina parc staff but also from the TUI reps. * we were very disappointed in the standard of the resort and this affected our experience and holiday. Since booking the holiday the hotel was demoted to 3*, we were not made aware of this. However my husband and I have been to 3* hotels before and they were far superior to this one. I spoke with many other guests who felt the same and also had different complaints about their holidays.

This is the first time I have ever had to write a bad review on TripAdvisor We booked a 3 bedroom apartment taking advise from the tui rep in the travel agents . . We arrived (3 adults and 2 children) too early to book In so we changed into our swimwear and had the afternoon by the pool. at 4pm our room was still not ready .we waited another hour .my son in law picked up the key and was told that it was a 2 bedroom apartment not a 3 .when he said we payed for a 3 bedrooms he was told that they were very popular and they didn't have one for us .we went to the apartment we were allocated only to find one bedroom was a double, the second was 2 single mattresses on low plinths suitable only for children and the other bed was a childs camp bed in the lounge .There was no kitchen in the apartment only table and chairs infact the appt didn't look anything like the one we had booked. We complained many times to both the hotel management and the tui reps. but nothing was done to help us until we were offered the apartment we had payed for on the Friday before we came home but by then we were too far into the holiday to move.Our holiday was spoilt by the trouble we had with our accommodation and the unhelpful reps that made us feel we were being unreasonable The other problems at the complex are , The restaurant is badly air conditioned and it isnt a pleasure to eat in there but if you eat outside you were bothered by wasps .The outdoor entertainment venue wasn't being used so that was taken inside again in a poorly air conditioned room . The only thing I can say we all enjoyed was the water park wont be going back
