Hotel Kristal, Ribčev Laz

A friendly hotel about 1M from Lake Bohinj that makes it's own chocolate- which is truly delicious. The bar is an annex of the dining room, but drinks can be take outside in good weather. Unfortunately no views of the lake from the hotel and the mountains really only visible from upstairs, but there is a pleasant atmosphere all the same. Food is good. We enjoyed our stay.

A family run hotel with friendly staff. Our room was cleaned well and had the best shower ever. Good size room on the ground floor. We were B & B and when we had an evening meal, it was disappointing in size of the meal and not really any choice so we mainly ate elsewhere. We were given a lot of help to book a trip to Italy the very next day. Just a 5 minute walk to the lake. A beautiful area of Slovenia and not at all "touristy" yet.

We were very disappointed ☹️ in our stay at this hotel, although we loved Bohinj. The owner was very pleasant but sometimes the staff were disinterested in the residents. Management of the restaurant was poor, particularly at breakfast. Afternoon tea was offered free of charge. What was afternoon tea? A cup of Earl Grey - no breakfast tea available and no cakes or biscuits offered. We were on half board on a package holiday. The hotel itself was pleasant and our room fine. Shower was hand held! 4* hotels have proper showers. Comfortable beds. Our half board food was very disappointing. It was unimaginative. We didn’t see a green vegetable in a week. People who came in off the street to have a la carte were treated much better and the waiters gave them special attention. The deserts for the residents were repetitive and consisted of mainly bits of unappetising cake. The best food was the packed lunch. The lack of a visit from a TUI representative was unhelpful.
