Topazio Mar Beach Hotel & Apartments

We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come here again. We stayed in an apartment on the top floor (didn’t realise that there was no lift) up 3 flights of stairs. Our balcony had a very tall palm tree which kept our room cool. There were lots of little birds living in that tree - which were fun to see close up. The kitchen was equipped with just about everything you need to russle up a cooked breakfast or snack. No oven or frying pan ( apparently the smoke alarms kept being triggered by frying. We managed by keeping the window open and putting the extractor fan on. We decided that we didn’t need housekeeping to come in every day - you can sign up to the green scheme. Every where was perfectly clean and the surrounding gardens well maintained. The bed(s) two pushed together were very comfortable. It would have been better to have some drawer units instead of open shelves. The wardrobe in our room had no doors and only a few hangers each side (would have been nice to close the doors and not have to see my clothes piled up on the shelves. There was a safe and some duvet for when the temperature dropped at night. We had a small table and chairs inside and also two chairs and table on the balcony. No clothes airier to dry our swimming things though. There are some small local supermarkets to purchase water and provisions just across the road. There was a large bottle of water in our room (3ruros) if you need it and also a small pack of washing up liquid, sponge, dishcloth,bin liner , surface cleaner for €3 to start you off. We didn’t realise that the pool was unheated- it was far too cold 🥶 for me to get in . I think it was in the shade most of the day too. There were sun loungers and umbrellas and towels provided to use by the pool. There was always some chilled music playing on the terrace too. We ventured out each day - walking into the old town or discovering new beaches. Sometimes we caught the (noddy) tourist train 🚂 if we got tired. The strip is a short walk away and I recommend that you pick up a free map. You are spoilt for choice with all the bars and restaurants nearby. I have to eat gluten free as I’m coeliac and the hotel do gluten free baguettes. Local restaurants serve gluten free food- I always do a search on Tripadviser and found some lovely local restaurants 😋 The staff on reception were always friendly and happy to answer any questions. The Kiss nightclub just across the road never bothered us at all - maybe it has closed as it’s mid October .

This hotel is situated very close to local shops and the main strip in Albuferia where the clubs, bars and restaurants are, literally a 5 -7 min walk. The nearest beach was also 5 - 7 min walk which was absolutely beautiful, worth visiting, lagoons, small cliff to climb so you can see coves from above! We stayed in a bungalow which is situated only a stone throw from reception area. The bungalow was clean, spacious living room area, with a balcony area and garden with sun loungers. The bathroom had a shower with a bidet (didnt use) which some of the stainless steel fittings in shower and on bidet was rusty. The glass door to the shower did not close properly, had to lift and pull with force to be able to close it, but still wasnt closed fully. The bedroom is just for sleeping or ironing, not much extra room but the bed was absolutely cosy and very comfortable!! I find it hard to sleep but found that I slept like a baby on the bed, fantastic!! There is a small kitchen area, double hob, kettle, fridge freezer which was modern and clean and a dining table with 6 chairs, TV, which i didnt use and a sofa bed which was stained, but I used towels to cover the sofa bed and it was fine. Room was cleaned daily, and towels changed. Overall, nice stay, with pleasant, friendly and helpful staff who seemed genuine! Nothing was too much to ask and everyone was just chilled. There is a cute swimming pool which unfortunately we never managed to use but if I stayed again, I would defo use it. Theres also a bar area by the pool which was reasonably priced. All in all, good stay, no bugs and would stay again! :-)

We stayed here for 10 days and had a lovely time. Noticed when we arrived that we didn’t have an oven in our kitchen, which we believed to be there, as stated at the time of booking. When enquiring about this, the hotel said no rooms had ovens due to the smoke detectors. Eventually this was resolved through our booking company and the hotel purchased a mini oven for our studio, which we were very grateful for. The hotel was very modern and had great facilities. I have noticed in many reviews that there have been complaints about the noise from the nightclub across the street, however we did not have any trouble with this and hardly heard the noise from the club. Would stay again in the future.
