InSchliersee and Spitzingsee, Germany
What's Schliersee and Spitzingsee like?
A place to unwind, Spitzingsee is a peaceful town that centres itself on relaxation and enjoying Germany’s nature. The quiet hamlet-like village is framed by impressive Alpine mountains that reflect off of the lake’s waters. And there are plenty of ways you can explore the area – the resort recently introduced mountain carts, so you’ll have a unique chance to take in the view as you go-kart your way down the mountain. In between exploring Schliersee’s scenery, wander through the town’s sights and pay a visit to the castle ruins. You can learn the local history and if you’re visiting in August, you’ll be able to experience the Annual Scottish Highland Games first hand. Just north of Spitzingsee is the town of Schliersee, which is also named after its lake - created by the melting glaciers of the last ice age. It’s a restful and picturesque town, where you can relax in the health and wellbeing facilities and bathe in the lake’s beautiful waters.
