View All DealsHolidays to Cala Finestrat pair one of Spain's finest coves with a pretty mountainside village.
Just like its name, Cala Finestrat is a town of two halves. There’s the popular seaside resort with a family-friendly beach and all the holiday essentials. Make the 15-minute drive into the mountains, meanwhile, and you’ll reach the traditional-to-a-T village of Finestrat. It’s also worth mentioning that Benidorm’s just two coves over, so nights on the tiles are in good supply, too.
It’s as if Cala Finestrat’s cove has been designed with families in mind. It’s a spotless pocket of white sand, which gently shelves into window-clear waters. They’re so see-through, in fact, that you can watch the fish swimming around you. There’s a lifeguard on duty and a playground for little ones. Just around the headland, you’ve got the start of Benidorm’s two big beaches.
If you fancy seeing Costa Blanca’s cultural side, head for the hills. Finestrat – the original settlement – hugs the edges of Puig Campana mountain. You can stroll between colourful houses on cobbled streets, admire the sculptures in the park, or take in the views from El Castell lookout point. And there’s even more culture to absorb in Benidorm’s old town – a 20-minute drive from Cala Finestrat.
Nearby Benidorm is on hand for an action-packed day out. It’s only 15 minutes’ drive away, and the seaside town’s stuffed to the brim with waterparks, theme parks and shops. Not to mention bumper beaches, like Levante and Poniente. If you want to branch out further, Valencia's just over an hours' drive away, too.
